Gardone Riviera, the pearl of Lake Garda, is located on the Brescia shore. This small town has about 3000 inhabitants and is characterized by an important historical and cultural heritage. Amongst these is the “Vittoriale degli Italiani”, the spectacular home of the poet Gabriele D’Annunzio, which during the summer season, with its open-air theatre, hosts numerous concerts and shows. Gardone Riviera also boasts a wonderful lakeside promenade dedicated to D’Annunzio.

Gardone is a town located on the western shore of Lake Garda. It is a popular tourist destination and has hosted many famous artists and writers. The town is surrounded by verdant hills. The lake and surrounding mountains offer tourists breathtaking views from the town’s many vantage points. Gardone is also home to the André Heller Botanical Garden.

It is home to one of Italy’s most important historical sites: the Vittoriale degli Italiani, a villa and museum dedicated to the life and works of the Italian poet Gabriele d’Annunzio. The villa was built by d’Annunzio himself and is now open to the public. It is a fascinating place to explore and includes a number of impressive sculptures, paintings and other works of art.

Gardone is home to the Il Divino Infante Museum of Gardone Riviera, an extraordinary collection belonging to the German collector Hiky Mayr, who is also personally involved in the restoration phases, contributing to the preservation of a very important historical and cultural heritage. The precious collection documents the iconography associated with sculpture that has the “Baby Jesus” as its theme.

The town hosts numerous festivals, theatre performances and events, many of which take place during the summer season in the amphitheatre inside the Vittoriale.

You can easily reach the town of Gardone by driving along the Gardesana occidentale. Those travelling on the A4 Turin/Venice motorway must exit at the Desenzano del Garda tollgate and then follow the road signs in the direction of Salò and Riva del Garda.
