Padenghe sul Garda is a small town situated on the moraine hills in the south-western part of Lake Garda.
The town has a few thousand resident inhabitants, but in the summer season the population can even double due to the presence of tourists who stay in hotels, holiday homes, and campsites in the area.
Due to its proximity to Desenzano del Garda and quick access to the main communication roads, most public and private services, such as the hospital and shopping centres, can be accessed from Padenghe.
From the castle, built in the 12th century and located at the highest point of the municipality, visitors can enjoy a splendid view of the lake and the surrounding moraine hills.
In addition to the castle, tourists can also visit the Church of Sant’Emiliano in Padenghe.
For those interested in sampling the local gastronomic products, numerous local farms and agritourisms offer excellent wines and extra virgin olive oil tasting.
Vineyards and olive groves are the most widespread crops in the agricultural land of Padenghe and the surrounding municipalities.
Padenghe is easily reached by car and train. By car, following the Valtenesi provincial road.
From the A4 Turin/Venice motorway, the exit is Desenzano. Then continue along the SP 236 following the road signs in the direction of Salò.
