The location allows one to enjoy the enchanting surrounding landscape, offering the perfect combination of living comfort and contact with the natural beauty of the place.
Lonato del Garda lies in a large moraine area on the southwestern shore of Lake Garda in a splendid position overlooking the lake and the Brescian plain. “The origins and linguistic provenance of the place name “Lonato” are uncertain, but the reference to the marshes that must have surrounded the town in the past seems certain. The first mention of Lonato is found in documents dating back to the 10th century, but human settlements must have been in the area since the early Bronze Age. Inhabited since ancient times by a people of skillful pile-dwelling farmers, it was later the land of the Gauls and garrison for the Gallic road in Roman times. Repeatedly destroyed and rebuilt during barbarian raids, it began to occupy its current position from the year 1000 onwards, and from 1300, at the hands of the Visconti family, it began to take on the appearance of a fortress town that still characterizes it today.
